Characteristically Calm: In Search of Understanding False Accusations

Usually the focus is on the alleged victim. I recently wrote an article about Enrico Wallenda  who was falsely accused of sexual abuse, and exonerated. The story of the charge was reported, however the newspaper failed to follow up the story when he was vindicated. In a Google search for Enrico Wallenda, the story of the charges comes up first. The embarrassment, and stigma attached is devastating. Failure of the media to follow up such stories may not be a requirement, but certainly is an ethical and reasonable expectation.
